BiographiesEmma CalderCollage, wire models, computer-generated imagery, watercolours, spontaneous paintings created directly under the camera, Emma Calder is comfortable working in any medium you care to mention, and a few more besides. If a job demands a unique and original look she will invent it. Emma studied graphic design at the London College of Printing and the Royal College of Art, which is where she began to experiment with animation. With her film Madam Potatoe, she invented and perfected the technique of potato-print animation. In 1986 she made Springfield, a witty and offbeat probing of loss and alienation featuring a central character who is half woman, half vacuum cleaner. Emma has also worked on pop videos for the Eurythmics and channel idents for MTV. Her last film is The Queens Monastery, which has been awarded a Silver Hugo at Chicago, second prize at the Dresden Festival and the best professional film at Bradford International Film Festival. Most recently special jury prize at Zagreb. Emma has recently directed the Bonehead pilot with Ged Haney.
Ged Haney +-mented his art over the years. Born in Workington, Cumberland, he studied graphic design at Carlisle and the London College of Printing.He has written the music for many animated films, including twenty-two episodes of Grim Tales, the children's TV series starring top British comedian Rik Mayall. In 1992, after almost seven years work, he completed The Kings of Siam, which went on to win the Norman Mclaren Award at the Edinburgh Film Festival and the Jury Prize at Esphino. It received rave reviews when shown on British TV including being pick of the day in the Sunday Times, Telegraph and Independent. In 1994 Ged created Far Out Man, three highly acclaimed channel ident's for MTV Europe. He also created the artwork and animation for the sucsessful Lynx Inca campaign for Faberge. Last year he directed Blah Blah Blah and Riddle with Andreas Hykade. These two pop videos have reached cult status in Germany. He has recently directed four commercials with Andres Hykade for Britannia Building Society.
